Swati Mandela is an inspiring young leader, who is passionate about being a change agent to benefit future generations. She believes 'if we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world toward him. We need not wait to see what others do. 


Inspired by her grandmother who was a guiding light to women who endured the struggles of the apartheid era, Swati is using her platform to expand that theme. Swati is also dedicated to uplifting and empowering youth through literacy. She is the co-founder of the Long Walk to Freedom, a nonprofit that runs the Mandela Library Container Project. The project is responsible for the delivery of over 60 container libraries in South Africa in the last 5 years. Every library delivered impacts 1000 children per year for at least 15 years. Having been personally impacted, she lends her voice to fight against AIDS/HIV. She is also a former ambassador to AIME. 

International Speaker

Swati is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker with a passion to tell her story of growing up at the feet of giants. Swati speaks on a variety of topics and customises her keynotes. Her presentations center around women's empowerment, finding your voice, education, equality and diversity. She uses her talents, experiences and voice to help individuals discover their God-given purpose. As a speaker, Swati is inspirational, engaging, humble and witting. Swati Mandela Speaks! 

Entrepreneur and Business Leader

Swati represents South Africa as a High Commissioner in the General Assembly of the World Business Angels Investment Forum. She is the Founding Partner at Qunu Workforce, a company specialising in job training and placement for those living with disabilities. Swati is a fashion designer and entrepreneur. In 2017, Swati launched her luxury clothing label Swati by Roi Kaskara. She is the co-editor of '491 days'., a book written by her grandmother that details the brutality she experienced under the apartheid state. She is the associate editor and wrote the forward to the book 'The Prison Letters of Nelson Mandela' (Published 2018), a collection of Nelson Mandela prison letters spanning the 27 years he was held as a political prisoner. She was the chief fundraiser and spokesperson on the 21 Icons project, a series of short films featuring Nobel Peace Prize winners: Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and F.W. De Klerk. She is currently working on a full-lenght documentary about Winnie Mandela.

Swati believes in maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle. When not speaking, working or volunteering, she enjoys exercising, meditation and weekly family gatherings. She loves the color orange. She enjoys listening to all genres of music. She loves the individuality of an artist and belives your uniqueness is your power. Swati is the daughter of Prince Thumbumuzi Dlamini and Princess Zenani Mandela. She resides in Johannesburg, South Africa.
